Pay

Base Pay for American counselors is $3,000 for a 9 week contract. Additional pay and bonus for current certifications, years of service and additional areas of responsibility or extended contracts

The Camp Photographer is responsible for capturing the magic of camp and sharing the photos with parents online, which is one of the main ways we communicate with parents during their child’s stay. While the photographer does not lead activities or have cabin duties, they are always a big part of the action at CSC.

The Camp Nurse is the primary medical point of contact for Camp St. Charles. The nurse’s responsibilities include administering medication and aid to campers throughout programming, including being on-call for emergencies for the duration of their contract.

Additionally, the nurse ensures the proper storage procedures are followed regarding medication and supplies, keeping an adequate inventory as needed. The nurse is expected to maintain consistent communication with parents or caregivers regarding health concerns or incidents of campers.

RN required, children of the camp nurse may attend as part of the compensation. Camp Nurses live on site during their contracted session.

The Kitchen Manager/Shift lead is responsible for overseeing and managing kitchen support staff, as well as ensuring proper safety and sanitation is maintained within the kitchen environment. Within this role, the manager is also responsible for preparing allergen friendly meals for affected campers and staff. Current Servsafe Kitchen Manager Certification preferred, Camp may provide training.

The kitchen support roles are typically filled by international staff. The role involves assisting in all aspects of camp food service, including preparing meals, serving food, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring food safety. This will be done working under the direction of the kitchen manager.

A facilities support job involves maintaining a clean and safe environment for campers and staff, including cleaning buildings, restrooms, grounds, and performing minor repairs, as well as managing cleaning supplies and equipment.

Junior Counselors (JC’s) are 16 & 17 year old staff members. They assist counselors in the cabins and at activities, assist our kitchen crew during dinner service, and manage, organize, and prepare canteen (snack time). While not necessary, many of our JC’s are former campers who are eager to transfer their experience and memories into a wonderful new experience for our campers.
